Can you coordinate with the Metro to add some cars to the Gold Line trains? They were totally PACKED last time, especially with all the bikes on board.

CicLAvia met with Metro, and they’re planning to have two cars per train (last year it was one car per train) on the Metro Gold Line. I’d suggest emailing them at customerrelations [at] metro.net and politely thank them, and suggest that they run three cars per train.

I’d also recommend that if folks are coming from locations closer to the route, they join a feeder ride, and leave Metro capacity for folks further away from the route.

It’s Northrop Grumman, nor as it’s spelled on the flier. Nice to get the sponsors’ names right.

I plan to ride in next time from Burbank, but this time I drove to the Universal City Metro Station and took the Red Line to MacArthur Park. My niece and I had soooo much fun! We ate at Mama’s Hot Tamales, then got popsicles from a double-thumbed guy across the street at the park. We even walked down around the edge of the lake. Thanks Ciclavia, for a great afternoon!

    Hi,

I have never done this before and I was just wondering if this was an out-and-back ride or just one direction? And if it is one direction how do you suggest we get back to the start? If you haven’t guessed, I’m not from L.A. Thank you, MIke

You have multiple stops to choose from. For you, the earliest stop next to the route is Beverly/Vermont – near the west end of the route. Every stop past that is on the route, or one or two blocks from it. If you want, though, continue to downtown and exit at 7th Street (called “7th and Metro”) and you’ll step out dramatically into the skyscrapers and historic buildings downtown. Stolen Bikes!!! These bikes were locked to a pole 2 blocks North of Melrose on Heliotrope at the start of the Cyclavia route Sunday April 10th between 1-4 pm! Please help in finding, if you happen to see them around please let me know. The culprit cut clean through a very large cable. I run a children’s non-profit bike group and these two bikes were some of the most popular we have. The kids will really miss them!

    Thanks,
    Terry

The crowd quadrupled from Oct 10 to April 10. The masses rolled in-all smiles-all good fun. Wondering for the next event to help ease congestion at the traffic lights—will the route be extended, or possibly extend the hours, say like 5PM? On that note, I think it would be great fun to have an evening/night ride for Ciclavia, or at least until dusk, or a little after dusk, to see the lights, however, safety issues may come into concern? I love this event! People watch and exercise, awesome, plus the weather was California PERFECT today. Thank you.

I had a great time riding the entire length of the course from and back to Melrose.
Lots of people having fun, lots of children having a great time and just a good vibe in general.

I loved collecting all four of the super cool buttons, that was a great idea.

It might be listed somewhere, but how long was the course?
