Rolling CicLAvia Interview Videos

Check out these four rolling interviews filmed by muti-talented bicyclist Aaron Kuehn – who also did the 4th Street Bike Boulevard rendering we shared a few weeks ago. It’s great to see the perspective atop CicLAvia Board President Bobby Gadda‘s tall bike. Bobby is one of two people who visited ciclovías in Bogotá, Colombia, and then started the push for bringing ciclovía to Los Angeles. We’re really glad he did!

Next up is an interview with Jimmy Lizama… a Los Angeles legend: one of the founders of the Bicycle Kitchen, on the initial board of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, currently wrenching at Flying Pigeon bike shop and the Bicycle Morgue in back of Los Angeles Eco-Village. El Jimmy was one of the organizers of CicLAvia’s Midday Ridazz kids ride, and also CicLAvia’s capoeira circle. And his laugh is positively infectious!

Next up Kuehn interviews Ron Milam, co-founder of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, non-profit consultant guru and CicLAvia supporter. Great to also see a cameo of Jessica Meaney who runs the L.A. office of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership. If you’re looking to get kids safely walking and bicycling to your neighborhood school, contact Safe Routes!

Lastly, here’s CicLAvia’s Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator Joe Linton, a longtime Los Angeles bicycle activist who also writes about river and water environmental issues at L.A. Creek Freak.

Lots more excellent 10-10-10 CicLAvia vids here, here, and here.

The secret formula: 2 matching independent GoPro HD 960 headmount cameras. Edited in Adobe Premiere CS5 (Thanks Alex Safanov / Skramble), using the built-in Multi-Camera edit function. Stereo audio is achieved by the two cameras’ built in mono microphones, which I carefully synchronize at the waveform level, and pan more towards center. The trick is not crashing while riding a bike looking to the side (use the force). Can’t wait to do more, are you next?

Great interviews with some great folks–but even better was the amazing backdrop of the city’s buildings and the city’s residents out enjoying the streets. Nice job.

Are you saying that the backdrop was better than watching me?!?! LOL – I agree.
