10-10-10 is also the 100th anniversary of the birth of world famous Los Angeles modern architectural photographer Julius Shulman. As he was so prolific, I can’t imagine that the ride won’t pass by at least a few of his subjects.

You can join anywhere on the route. It is just like a really long park. Walk or bike the whole thing or just a few blocks! OR, you can just bring a chair and watch people go past you!

Yes – You can start where ever you want! There are a few organized rides that will happen within the event – and those have starting points – see kids ride info and LACBC ride info (and more group rides may materialize.)

This isn’t an event supported by those of us who need to get back and forth across the city and are severely inconvenienced.

Yes Estelina – boooo ef’ing hoo. We don’t support your daily consumption of gas and supporting the wonderful chain of oil slavery but you don’t hear us whining. Go cry to some of your gas slave commies who care.

Go easy, @questions – @Estelina’s concerns are valid. CicLAvia has included crossing points on the route, so that it has less impact on folks needing to go by car that day. Expect some delays, but it should less inconvenient than a full-closure event like the marathon. Estelina – I hope you’ll give us feedback on how we can all share our roadways, and not inconveniece each other too much. If you have time on Sunday, come down and walk or bike with us!

@Joe – I guess. It’s just hard to remember people in automobile’s validity after having several friends hit on bikes as they were legally riding, one killed while legally riding to work and when one BMW hit me as a pedestrian on a green lit crosswalk, ruining my knees.
I don’t see why bicyclists and pedestrians need to be more tolerant of aggressive motorists in the face of massive eco-system destruction and ultimately when we’re not the one’s maiming and taking lives (on such a regular basis).
By all means Estelina – come on down.

Where can we get bikes? My wife and I are down from SF and need to bring back lots of pictures for our friends who organize the Sunday Street events in San Francisco. We really would like to have bikes for a couple of hours but can’t find any rental places nearby. Any suggestions?

That’s the entrepeneurial question of the day… You can, of course, walk… and LA has way too few bike rental places, and the ones that we contacted didn’t want to gamble on our invitations to be at the event. If you’re near the westside, you may be able to rent a bikes near the beach, and head east. Sorry we don’t have a better answer.

when this event will end , is there gonna be a big hang out place for everybody , even the non-cyclists too ? , something like a festival with food and lots pf good stuff ?

Way to drop nice racist comments. The ride today was great and lots of fun. For the first year out it had great turn out. Maybe you should get off your fat ass and close your mouth a little more Valrulez.

Just got back. Great ride. Hope the city will do it again. Was able to tell a few people about the campaign to expand the bike lanes through Beverly Hills and Better Hikes LA.

I just got back and would like to say that that was officially THE BEST THING EVER. I biked the route twice (started in the middle, went to one end, went to the other, then came back to where I joined the ride). Every business along the way was packed with people (especially the bars and restaurants) and I did not see a single unhappy person all day out of easily tens of thousands of bike riders, walkers, runners, people in wheelchairs, roller skaters, skateboarders, Segway riders, and people just sitting on their lawn or balcony and watching the spectacle. I cannot wait for the next one.
