Are you suffering from the symptoms of CicLAvia withdrawal? Do you wish you could re-live some of that now-legendary CicLAvia energy? Well, April 2011 isn’t that far off… and this weekend, you might want to check out the 2010 Tour de Fat Los Angeles.
It’s not… quite… CicLAvia (but then what could be?!?) but it is a coming together of Los Angeles’ bicyclists. There’s a bike parade, music, and other performances and… there will be juggling.
Tour de Fat is presented by the New Belgium Brewery Company - makers of Fat Tire Ale, and supporters of bicycling just about everywhere. The event benefits three of L.A.’s premiere bicycle organizations – all CicLAvia partners: C.I.C.L.E., the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and the Bicycle Kitchen.
Tour de Fat Los Angeles takes place Saturday October 23rd, 2010, at the Los Angeles State Historic Park – 1245 N. Spring Street, L.A. CA 90012. On North Spring Street conveniently just north of the Chinatown Station on the Metro Gold Line. Admission is free, but bring money for food and beer. RSVP on Facebook – or just show up.
LACBC, C.I.C.L.E. and the Bicycle Kitchen are all recruiting volunteers to help out that day! It’s a tough choice for us… eenie meenie miney mo…
And, that same night, there’s also a house party benefit for our friends at L.A. Streetsblog. RSVPs requested.
